Roads, water works and buildings across Kenya. Boreholes too.

Ruthasha Ventures is a contractor registered with the National Construction Authority at NCA4 for building, road and water works. We work across Kenya. Tell us where the site is and what should be standing, paved or flowing when we hand over.

Roads, buildings, water and boreholes

One part of a job, or the site through to handover. The work is across Kenya.

  • Excavator and tipper working on a cut slope

    Roads

Earthworks, culverts and drainage, then gravel or bitumen and the road furniture. The Gachocho-Ngonda upgrade took 16 months and finished in August 2023. Internal roads at a training institute in Naivasha were rebuilt from August to November 2024.

    Road projects
  • Three-storey institutional building with a red-tiled roof during external works

    Buildings

Foundations, the structure, finishes and plumbing. Two high-school campuses in Eldoret were handed over in March 2024. Phase 1 of Golden City estate in Kisumu ran from the groundworks through the finishes.

    Building projects
  • Excavator cutting a trench for a water pipeline

    Pans, dams and pipelines

Desilting a pan or a small dam, and laying the pipe that carries the water. At Etago-Mogenda in Kisii the job was 10 km of HDPE, three 150 m³ steel tanks, an inlet weir and a treatment unit. Other pans and dams run from Turkana and Wajir to Kilifi.

    Water projects
  • Truck-mounted drilling rig with its mast raised on a borehole site

    Boreholes

A hydrogeological survey and the permits come first. A hydraulic drilling rig and its operators are leased for the hole. The borehole is test pumped and the water checked before handover. Three school boreholes in Murang'a, at Gatanga, Mwangaza and Maganjo, were finished in 2022.

A borehole starts with a survey, not a drill

Where you drill decides whether you get water at all, so a hydrogeological survey comes first. We help coordinate the permits, then plan the borehole around what it has to supply, whether that is a home, a school, a farm or a village. When it is drilled we test pump it and check the water quality before we hand it over.

We also service and rehabilitate boreholes that have stopped giving what they used to.

  • A hydrogeological survey before any drilling
  • Permit coordination
  • Test pumping and water quality analysis before handover
  • Servicing and rehabilitation of existing boreholes

Three boreholes at three secondary schools in Murang'a County, Gatanga, Mwangaza and Maganjo, 2022.

We bring in a hydraulic drilling rig and its operators on lease for each job.

Ask about a borehole

From your first call to handover

  1. 1

    The brief.

You tell us what is needed and where. We visit the site or work from your drawings and bill of quantities, and tell you straight what we can and cannot take on.

  2. 2

    The programme.

A detailed programme is drawn up before work starts, and we help coordinate county permits and licences.

  3. 3

    On site.

Each crew has a qualified supervisor. Safety inspections and site reports are routine, and we monitor cost with you as the work goes. Where it affects neighbours, we talk to the host community first.

  4. 4

    Handover.

Boreholes are test pumped and the water quality checked. Your engineer or project manager inspects the work before completion is certified.
